PHILIPSBURG:--- On Friday September 5th, 2014 two separate attempted armed robberies were reported. The first took place at around 9:40pm at the Beach Plaza Casino where two armed men and a woman, dressed completely in black stormed into the establishment and attempted to commit an armed robbery. After the suspects noticed that their attempt was unsuccessful they ran out of the casino, jumped into a small white car with a French license place and took off at high speed via the Walter Nisbeth road in the direction of Sucker Garden.
The second armed robbery took place at approximately 11:35pm at the Paradise Casino on the Welfare road, where according to the victim he was attacked by two armed men in the establishment who threatened him by putting a gun to his head. When these men did not succeed in getting anything form the victim they ran out of the casino and jumped into a small white car and fled into the direction of Marigot.
Both attempted robberies are been investigated by the Special Robbery Unit.
