Rob Feenstra to assist in developing strategic plan for SZV

cdeweevermeetswithrobfeenstra08092014PHILIPSBURG:--- "De Friesland", a large Dutch Health Insurance Company situated in Leeuwarden with over 565.000 insured, has made Mr. Rob Feenstra an Interim Manager from the Netherlands available to the SZV. Mr. Feenstra has many years of experience in the field of structuring and organizing companies that operate in the field of health care. His main task at SZV is assisting in the development of the SZV strategic plan 2015 - 2017. The strategic plan should be finalized in November 2014.

"As Minister of Public Health Social Development & Labor it has been a priority of mine to have SZV properly structured in such a way that the clients are properly taken care of," said Minister Cornelius De Weever.

"I am happy with this milestone we have achieved and look forward to implementing the recommendations of 'De Friesland' as we continue to work in the best interest of St. Maarten and its people."

SZV wants to further reshape the organization and make it more customer oriented by catering to the needs of its clients -the people of Sint Maarten, in the best possible way. SZV has made a good start so far, but is now at a point that outside assistance will help to further accomplish this goal. "De Friesland" has vast experience in the field of operation and SZV recently signed a cooperation agreement with "De Friesland" through which operational assistance will be provided if necessary. This is the first fruit falling from that tree. At the same time, Mr. Feenstra will assist SZV in the selection process to find a suitable candidate for the position of SZV Director; a position that is currently vacant but is expected to be filled by the end of this year.

In the coming weeks several different experts from "De Friesland" will be visiting Sint Maarten to organize and attend meetings with the SZV stakeholders such as patient groups, health care providers (hospital, doctors etc.), together with the staff of SZV and the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labor. With these stakeholders, the SZV project team, headed by Mr. Feenstra, will have a broad discussion on the role of SZV in our community and the expectations of our stakeholders with regards to the functioning of the organization. By doing this, SZV will seek input from its stakeholders to enable it to define and write a tailor-made strategic plan with a broad based support within the community.
