PHILIPSBURG:--- On Sunday October 5th, 2014 at approximately 5:15am police patrols, paramedics and fire department personnel were sent to the crossing of A.J.C. Brouwers Road and Welgelegen Road for a serious car accident in which several persons were severely wounded. On the scene the investigating officers encountered a head-on collision between two private vehicles with the license plates P-7971 and P-9354. The impact of both vehicles left the two occupants of each vehicle seriously injured with numerous cuts to their face, arms and legs. During the impact all four victims hit their face in the windshield. They were all treated in the scene and transported to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. The exact cause of this traffic accident is still under investigation by the police traffic department.
