PHILIPSBURG:--- The first game of the inaugural season of LBC began with Learning Unlimited versus Bush Tea Remedy. The Learning Unlimited lead for most of the game and lead at halftime 25 - 16, after #9 Jakisha Brooks fouled out the momentum changed in favor for Bush Tea Remedy and they ended up winning the game 40-35. LU's Jakisha Brooks lead all scorers win 17 points, 13 rebounds, 4 Steals. #7 Daricia was the second top scorer for LU with 11 points and 4 steals. Bush Tea Remedy top scorer was #7 Keri Hyman with 16 points & 4 rebounds and second was #6 Lilian Henry with 10 points. Motorworld Player of the game went to #6 Lilian Henry who had 10 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for leading her team to victory.
Game two of the weekend was between Lightning and Lava Girls. The game was close in the first quarter but shifted in favor of the Lava Girls in the second quarter onwards. They won the game 59 to 24. Lightning's #8 Tsjaquilla Jeffrey lead all scorers with 17 points during the game. The Lava Girls had a balanced scoring attack with three players in double digits. Claudia Fleming and Diasha Ferdinand lead Lava Girls with 13 points a piece and Selah Fleming had 10 points. The Motorworld Player Of The Game went to Claudia Fleming with 13 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 5 steals.
The third game of the weekend was between Learning Unlimited versus Thunderz from the French Side. From the get go the Thunderz put their foot on the pedal and didnt let go and lead 15 to 3 after the first quarter, 30 to 15 at halftime and won the game 74 to 26. #9 Tiana Lionel of Thunderz lead all scorers with 32 points, second top scorer for Thunderz was Joyette with 17 points.
Top scorers of Learning Unlimited were Jakisha Brooks with 10 and Daricia Arrindell with 9
Motorworld Player Of The Game went to Tiana Lionel who had 32 points and 32 Rebounds, 4 Assists and 4 Steals.
Next weekend's games at Melford Hazel Sports Complex in Sucker Garden include on Saturday 6-7:30pm Lightning VS Thunderz and Sunday at 3pm, Bush Tea Remedy VS Lava Girls and at 5pm Lightning taking on Learning Unlimited.
