Dauphin Telecom Fiber Optic Cable Damaged, Internet services may be restored by Friday.

MARIGOT:--- The management of Dauphin Telecom confirmed to SMN News that their fiber optic cable was severely damaged during the passing of Hurricane Gonzalo. The management of Dauphin Telecom says that due to the damage to their fiber optic cable clients from La Savane to Belle Plaine cannot get Internet services. They said that their crew began working since 6am on Tuesday to repair the damaged cable which might be completed on Thursday or latest Friday. However, management of Dauphin Telecom said that even though they will restore their Internet services by Friday they have no clue as to when all their clients will be back online since they have to wait on France Telecom to restore the fallen phone lines in Orient Bay, through French Quarter and other areas before they can reconnect their clients' Internet services. "So far we do not have any news from France Telecom. They have not been communicating with us so we really don't know when the phone lines will be restored. This is not the first time that France Telecom has ignored their clients despite the numerous communication Dauphin Telecom has with them. There is simply no response so we cannot say when our clients will receive Internet and phone services."
