Two men arrested for illegal drugs and firearm possession.

confiscatedgun15122014PHILIPSBURG:--- On Friday December 12th, 2014 at approximately 9:00 p.m. during a general control kept between the Customs Department and the Police Department, a blue Hyundai Accent with license plate 3026AAA in which two men were driving was stopped in the vicinity of Mc Donald's in Dutch Quarter. During the control of the vehicle and its occupants several small plastic bags containing small amounts of marijuana and other drugs paraphernalia were found and confiscated. During a search of the passenger a loaded .40 caliber pistol was found tucked in his waist. This weapon was also confiscated for further investigation. The suspects, with initials R.R. (24) and T.M.R. (39), were arrested on the spot and taken to the Philipsburg Police Department where they remain in custody for further investigation.

Young man commits suicide.

On Saturday December 13th, 2014 at approximately 7:10 a.m. several patrols, detectives and forensic personnel were sent to Honduras drive in Union Farm to investigate a possible suicide case. On the scene the investigating officers spoke to the resident of that home who stated that her 21 year old son in law who recently was having some personal problems and who was last seen late Friday night had committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree at the back of the residence. The victim was indeed found by the investigating officers hanging, in a sitting, position from a rope which was tied to a tree and was not showing any signs of life. Dr. Douglas who arrived shortly after pronounced the death of the victim as a suicide. The body of the victim was transported to a morgue.
