howardhobgood12012015MULLET BAY:--- Howard Hobgood had to dig deep this time to win the January Medal Play Golf Tournament organized by the St. Maarten Golf Association SMGA over the weekend. A record amount of 39 golfers took the course by storm and with sometimes high gusty winds most golfers had difficulty scoring low.

As for Hobgood, who finished the par 70 Mullet Bay Golf Course with a score of 76 strokes, a score not familiar to Hobgood, it was enough to win both the Overall Low Gross for the tournament, as the 1st Low Gross prize in the Men's category.

Only one stroke more over 18 holes needed Kit Lee who scored a stunning 77 Low Gross which, after deduction of his 12 handicap, won him both the Overall Low Net prize of the tournament as well as the 1st Low Net in the Men's category with a 65 Low Net.

The Ladies Category had a big amount of participants this time. In total 9 ladies battled it out amongst each other. At the end Betty Green won 1st Low Gross with a score of 91 strokes, 1st Low Net was won by Debbie Ferland with a Low Net score of 73 strokes. In the same category came the winner of the fewest putts. This time it was Anne Marie Bouille who needed only 27 putts over 18 holes.
