PHILIPSBURG:--- St. Maarten Foundation for Psychologists and "Orthopeadagogen"(SFPO) is proud to announce that after much effort and consideration, a foundation which caters to the professional needs of mental health professionals, such as psychologists, orthopedagogen, counselors on St. Maarten, has been established.
The foundation consists of President drs. E.V.John-Roberts, Secretary drs. J.J.Kolfin-Baly, Treasurer drs. X.S.C.Balentina.
The objectives of SFPO are:
a. to support continuing, culture sensitive education, and research in the field of
pedagogy and psychology through seminars, publications, workshops and other
related activities;
b. to promote responsible and ethical practice in the areas of psychology and pedagogy
c. to build professional relationships with professionals within the field in the region in
order to develop psychological practices relevant to the Caribbean region;
d. to promote the increase of knowledge and efficiency among Psychologists,
Educationalist and Counselors.;
e. to seek, establish, and maintain affiliations with other Psychological Organizations
within the region.
SFPO is committed to execute the objectives and is looking forward to establishing a positive relationships with sponsors, community, press, and professionals in the field.
SFPO shall pursue its objectives by disseminating information of common interest to the general public
through discussion groups, seminars, lectures, workshops, bulletins, journals, newsletters , conferences, and other media.
