Customs Found Over $80,000.00 on Outgoing Flight to Curacao.

moneysuitcase20022015PHILIPSBURG:--- On February 13th 2015, Custom Officers at Princess Juliana International Airport found more than $80.000 during a routine control at the outgoing flight to Curacao. The money was placed in a suitcase which belongs to a male passenger with the initials R.D.

An investigation is   currently taking place to verify where the money comes from. SMN News learnt that the passenger came in from Curacao in Friday and was leaving on Saturday and that caught the eyes of the Customs officers at PJIAE. The suspect that is currently in custody was born in Curacao.

Also on February 19th 2015, Customs Officers at Princess Juliana International Airport found almost 6 kilo of cocaine packed in 2 suitcases hidden in false compartments, after a routine control of the incoming flight from Curacao.

Both suitcases belonged to a male passenger with initials R.S. and a female passenger with the initials S.R. Both were coming from Suriname.

Due to the ongoing investigations, further information cannot be released at this moment.
