Nine Injured in Three Separate Road Accidents--- Police and Ambulance Department had busy evening.

PHILIPSBURG:--- The police traffic department and the Ambulance department had their hands filled Tuesday evening when three separate motor vehicle accidents  left nine persons injured. The three accidents took place within a short period of time. The first in Cole Bay, one in Fort Willem and the third on Link One Road.
Police Spokesman Ricardo Henson said the three accidents took place within a 15 minutes time frame. Henson said the first accident took place in the vicinity of La Bamba in Cole Bay where a pedestrian was hit down by a vehicle. Henson said while the ambulance and traffic department was busy dealing with that accident and transporting the victim to the St. Maarten Medical Center, they received a second call where a Coaster bus and another vehicle had a head on collision in Fort Willem. Henson said that the fire department had to go to that scene to save the two passengers in the car that were trapped in the vehicle. The police spokesman said inside the Coaster Bus there were five persons including the driver all of whom were injured when the accident occurred. Henson said all the passengers in the bus and the two from the car had to be transported to SMMC for medical treatment. Henson said while police and the ambulance department were dealing with the second accident police received a third call for an accident on Link One (Belair Road) Henson said two other vehicle collided and hit head on, he said the driver of one of the vehicle seems to have lost control due to the wet roads, Henson said one of the vehicles in the third accident overturned and both drivers also had to be transported to the SMMC for medical treatment.
