On Friday, June 5th, mrs. mr. M. Boheur was sworn in as Prosecutor at the Public Prosecution Office BES on Saba. With the swearing a Royal Decree comes in force with which she is temporarily appointed to that job.
Mrs. Boheur works at the Public Prosecution Office in Rotterdam but came to Saba to cooperate in the Hector investigation together with mrs. mr. Overmeer. Mrs. mr. Overmeer is the prosecutor within OM BES and is charged in particular with Saba and St. Eustatius and thus the obvious person to handle the investigation Hector.
The Prosecution Office BES is a small office and investigations with a scope and intensity as the Hector investigation should be done in addition to the already crowded usual work. To do both the one and the other well, assistance is required.
Next to Mrs. Boheur also a senior public prosecutor from Rotterdam arrived this week to assist. This concerns Mrs. C. Sterk. Because of the arrival of Mrs. Sterk the workload -caused by investigation Hector- for the prosecutor secretaries of the Public Prosecutor’s Office BES is manageable.
For the purpose of investigation Hector both on the police side and the Public Prosecutor side there is assistance available from the Prosecutors Office and National Police from the European Netherlands, besides the support for the team from the RST.
The responsibility for and management of the investigation still lie of course with the Prosecutor’s Office BES and KPCN.
Assistance for the Public Prosecutor’s Office BES in large investigations is not new. Recently, for the purpose of the Country Garden case, mr. R. Rammeloo has been working -next to mr. Hambeukers from the Public Prosecutor’s Office BES- on Bonaire. Mr. Rammeloo will soon arrive again to collaborate with the local Prosecutor’s Office since not all court sessions of the investigation Country Garden have been completed.
As is well known assistance of the National Police, the RST and other forces from the region were given to KPCN in Country Garden also.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office BES is very satisfied with the support from the Netherlands because it allows the local Public Prosecutor’s Office not only to fulfill the tasks in such large studies adequately, but also to keep working on other regular tasks and studies on the three islands.

Tweede officier van justitie in onderzoek Hector
Op vrijdag 5 juni is op Saba mw. mr. M. Boheur beëdigd als officier van justitie bij het Openbaar Ministerie BES. Met de beëdiging treedt een Koninklijk besluit in werking waarmee zij tijdelijk in die functie is benoemd.
Mw. Boheur werkt bij het Openbaar Ministerie in Rotterdam maar is naar Saba gekomen om in het onderzoek Hector samen te werken met mw. mr. Overmeer. Mr. Overmeer is als officier van justitie die binnen OM BES in het bijzonder belast is met Saba en Sint Eustatius en daarmee de voor de hand liggende persoon om het onderzoek Hector te behandelen.
Het OM BES is een klein parket en onderzoeken met een omvang en intensiteit zoals het onderzoek Hector moet worden gedaan naast het al drukke gebruikelijke werk. Om zowel het een als het ander goed te kunnen doen, is bijstand dan nodig.
Naast mevrouw Boheur is deze week ook een senior parketsecretaris vanuit Rotterdam ter ondersteuning gearriveerd. Dat betreft mevrouw C. Sterk. Door de komst van mevrouw Sterk is ook de werkdruk -die onderzoek Hector veroorzaakt- voor de parketsecretarissen van OM BES beheersbaar.
Ten behoeve van het onderzoek Hector is nu zowel aan politiezijde als aan OM-zijde hulp aanwezig vanuit het Openbare Ministerie en de Nationale Politie uit Europees Nederland, naast ondersteuning voor het team vanuit het RST. De verantwoordelijkheid voor en de leiding van het onderzoek blijven natuurlijk liggen bij OM BES en KPCN.
De bijstand voor het OM BES in omvangrijke onderzoeken is niet nieuw. Recentelijk is ten behoeve van het onderzoek Country Garden mr. R. Rammeloo -naast mr. Hambeukers van OM BES- aan het werk geweest op Bonaire. Mr. Rammeloo zal binnenkort opnieuw arriveren omdat in het onderzoek Country Garden nog niet alle zittingen zijn afgerond en zal weer met het lokale OM samenwerken.
Zoals bekend heeft in Country Garden KPCN ook bijstand c.q. ondersteuning van onder andere de Nationale Politie, het RST en korpsen uit de regio ontvangen.
OM BES is erg tevreden met de hulp uit Nederland omdat dit zorgt dat het lokale OM niet alleen de taken in dergelijke grote onderzoeken adequaat kan vervullen maar ook bezig kan blijven met andere/reguliere taken en onderzoeken op de drie eilanden.
