Board did not want dignitaries to their open house to be held on Thursday.
PHILIPSBURG:--- The board of Advanced Vocational and Adult Education dismissed the Director of NIPA Vernon Richards on Wednesday. SMN News received a copy of the dimissal letter that was sent to Richards on Wednesday June 10th 2015.
According to information provided to SMN News the school wanted to invite several dignitaries to their open house which is scheduled for July 11th 2015 but the board members informed him (Richards) that he must pull back all invitations that were sent to the dignitaries. SMN News further learnt that Richards then contacted the Minister of Education Rita Bourne Gumbs who told him she intended to attend the open house and she has no problem with dignitaries attending the open house. Richards then wrote a letter to the board and copied it to the Minister which led to his immediate dismissal. In the letter sent to Richards the board cited that he was dismissed due to non-compliance with regards to the open house which is scheduled for June 11th.
