WIB Supports chartering of new Toastmasters Club on Statia

Statia – The Windward Islands Bank Ltd has thrown its support behind the chartering of a brand new Toastmasters Club on the island of St Eustatius. The Bank has sponsored the charter fee for the administrative paper work to be processed at Toastmasters World Headquarters. St Eustatius is one of the newest territories in which a Toastmasters club will be formed.

Distinguished Toastmaster Valerie Brazier who oversees the Caribbean in the capacity of District Governor will be on St. Eustatius this Saturday June 20th, where she will conduct a presentation on what the organization is all about. After the presentation, interested persons will be allowed to register as charter members of the new Toastmasters Club. Elaine Cuvalay, Nora Sneek-Gibbes and Marinda Obispa are the contact persons who are organizing the meeting for Saturday at the Flamboyant training center.

“There was a Toastmasters Club on St. Eustatius years ago sand we believe it is time for a new club to be formed”; stated District Governor Valerie Brazier. Distinguished Toastmaster Rolando Tobias, who had conducted a keynote address for the opening ceremony of the Daughters of the King back in March 2015, spoke with several individuals and recognized that the community is ready for a Toastmasters Club. “Communication & effective leadership are cornerstones of any great society and I am excited about traveling to Statia in support of the Club; Tobias was quoted as saying.

When approached, the Windward Islands Bank was happy to assist with the charter fee. Sharon Hassell, Branch Manager of the Statia branch was really pleased to present the sponsorship to Elaine Cuvalay. As a good corporate citizen, we are happy to support these types of initiatives to make a community better through communication and leadership; Sharon Hassell explained while presenting the sponsorship to Mrs. Cuvalay.
