Will be transported to the Netherlands as soon as the Dutch sends someone to get their prisoner.
PHILIPSBURG: --- The head of the Cadastre Office Clemens Roos who was arrested on Wednesday by police on St. Maarten at his Back Street office on the request of the Netherlands has been convicted to 22 months imprisonment in the Netherlands.
Prosecutor Lemmers told SMN News on Thursday when she was pressed for information that Roos was charged with some type of fraud relating to “Social Premiums”. Asked if Roos will be contesting his extradition Lemmers said there will not be any extradition hearing and that Roos will be transported to the Netherlands as soon as the Dutch sends someone to St. Maarten to pick him up.
In 2011, the Ombudsman of St. Maarten conducted a forensic investigation at the Cadastre Office due to a deed Roos altered on October 15th 2011 which was a national holiday. At the time this investigation was taking place the attorney that represented Roos and one particular newspaper ridiculed the Ombudsman of St. Maarten in several newspaper articles as they try to protect and defend the now convicted felon.
The Ombudsman submitted her completed report to the Minister of VROMI where she gave several recomendation on how to take action against Roos who altered the deeds that were published on SMN News.
