Academy Orientation Set for Thursday Evening

CUL DE SAC:--- Board and Management of St. Maarten Academy would like to inform all parents of new students that the orientation, especially for first formers, will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at their respective campuses. The meetings will begin at 6:00 PM and end at 8:00 PM.

All parents and new students are expected to attend this very important session where they will be briefed about the school’s expectations and plans for the new school year. The teaching staff, School Board, and members of the Parent-Teachers Foundation will be introduced. Students will also get the opportunity to meet their mentors, visit their homeroom, and get an idea of their schedule and activities they will be involved in this year.

All attendees are asked to pay keen attention to the orientation venues. Parents of students registered at the academic campus must attend the meeting being held at the school next to the former Sheik Supermarket; while parents of students registered at PSVE must attend the meeting at that school (South Reward).

Beginning high school requires students to make a great many changes and adjustments, both socially and emotionally. The event is geared towards alleviating first day jitters that most first formers feel on entering a new environment.

Parents are being encouraged to attend this very important meeting with their children as it will set the tone for the 2015-2016 school year. When all parties work together from the very beginning, excellence can be achieved.
