PHILIPSBURG:--- Ten (10) finalists in the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Commerce & Industry ‘s Small Business Plan Competition have been selected, according to Board of Directors Member and committee leader Nzinga Lake .
Finalists Sherma Noble, Elurya Leverock, Crystal James, Yannick Hodge, Shawn York, Shasa Lake, Murline Peterson Lundi, Nalaysha Agard, Jentrite Felix and Sabrina Vrutaal all move on to the next round where they will pitch their business plans to a panel of selected judges representing a wide cross-section of the business community. Candidates will have twenty minutes to pitch their plans and answer any questions the judges may have.
Finalists will vie for top honors in Best Marketing, Best Pitch, Best Brand, Most Likely to Become Successful and Overall Winner categories. The Grand Prize includes a Starter’s Package valued at US $2,000 of professional services and start-up equipment generously donated by various businesses on the island. Winners will be announced at a Closing Reception to be held in celebration of World Entrepreneurs’ Day on Friday, August 21st at the Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce wishes to thank all the business that have contributed goods, prizes and services.
