Choose 24 hot acts for September finals
Pond Island – Organizers of the annual TelCell Breakthrough Youth Tealent Serch contest are hailing Saturday’s auditions for their next upcoming show, another runaway hit – this time with judges, who were in awe at the scope and quality of the youth talent before them.
According to event coordinator, Angel Richardson, more than 100 young performers were registered to appear before judges at the Culture Center, Backstreet, Saturday.
The great majority came to show the results of weeks of practice and to win a place in the TelCell Breakthrough Youth Talent Search finals, slated for September 26 at the Maho Royale Theater.
“Once again this year the talent on display went up another notch,” said Angel.
“Some extremely good performers did not make the final cut, however, the judges were so impressed with at least two who feel into this category, that they have expressed an interest in keeping them close to hand so that they can also feature their respective talents in the finals when they are held.
“This is a great compliment to the two acts that didn’t make it, but also to how seriously individuals are about promoting all St. Maarten talent,” continued Angel.
She said those chosen to battle it out in the finals at the Maho Royale Theater, September 26 are:
Clint Vilonus (Remi), Shana Baugh, Eugene Brouta, Giovanni Richardson, Edline Pierre Louis, Jevannie Greenaway, Kyanni Atmopawrio, Tevin Williams, Tommylee Busby, Rigoria Keanu Martina, Marine Caillet, Lian Borsje, Leo Alexander, Roselina Fiacques, Rijkman Hodge, Alfred Thomas, Aldi Farrell and Rumari Rogers, Lisha Maduro, Leann Richardson, Celina Monsanto, Paul Brown, Jermain Roberts and Rogelio Bute.
The finalists, represent performing categories of Beat Boxing, Instrument playing, Dance, Vocals and Rapping. They have been advised to go away and begin working hard so that they can bring to the stage their very best performances in the upcoming finals.
The TelCell Breakthrough organizing committee, in collaboration with co-organizer XtraTight Entertainment, today congratulated all the winners of Saturday’s audition event and thanked all those who showed up to perform.
“The overall standard of the performers was raised once again and we would like to encourage all those who didn’t make the cut for the finals to keep working on their talent, because they are phenomenal,” said Angel.
