PHILIPSBURG: --- The Supervisory Board of Directors of GEBE along with their legal counsel ordered the Chief Financial Officer Rene Gartner to reinstate the internal auditor Sharine Daniel by 10am on Friday. Gartner was given the instructions Thursday night during a meeting with the members of the Supervisory board who made it clear to him that he was out of line when he took the decision to suspend the internal auditor without proof that she leaked documents to any media outlets. Furthermore, the board informed Gartner that he has no jurisdiction over the internal auditor since she falls under the audit committee.
Gartner accused Daniel for leaking internal documents including invoices from Chippie’s Café and the information she gathered during an investigation on the SAP payroll system he is paying an American company to install without approval from the Supervisory board. It should also be noted that the SAP payroll system was not even budgeted for and Gartner is paying $9,600.00 weekly to a company called Spectrum.
SMN News understands that the internal auditor already hired legal representation who sent a letter to the Supervisory Board questioning the suspension. Based on information SMN News received is the Supervisory Board informed Gartner and his legal representative Thursday night that if by 10am Friday morning the suspension is not lifted they will inform the attorney representing the internal auditor that they instructed the CFO to revoke his decision since he used the wrong charter. Further to that Gartner told the members of the Supervisory Board that he suspended Daniel with the intention of paying her out but that angered the members of the Supervisory board even more.
SMN News learnt that the members of the Supervisory Board informed Gartner that he was ‘over his head” with the position he currently holds and one of his biggest problems is that he “drinks too much alcohol” which is hindering his performance on the job. Some members of the board informed Gartner Thursday night that while he is looking to fire honest and hard-working employees he should start counting his days because his days are numbered.
Information reaching SMN news on Friday morning states that around 9:30am Gartner sent an email and letter to Sharine Daniel informing her that he revoked the suspension with immediate effect citing that he used the wrong charter to suspend her last week Wednesday.
