York fathered 26 children --- Suspect said she and her late father went to Notary to put land in her name.
PHILIPSBURG:---- The suspect police arrested last week Wednesday for the murder of Eddie York has to spend eight more days behind bars as the judge of instruction extended her pretrial detention on Friday. Press Prosecutor Karola Van Nie confirmed that the prosecution got the eight day extension they requested on Friday.
The suspect is the 34 year old daughter of the late Eddie York identified as J.Y. The woman told the judge of instruction that she did not put any of her father’s land in her name, on the contrary she told the judge she was her father’s favorite child of his 26 children and that her father went with her to a notary “Mingo” with her to put his property in her name.
Last week press prosecutor Karola Van Nie confirmed that police had arrested one person in the ongoing murder investigation but she did not give any further details. Van Nie did not even release the initials of the suspect in custody and her relations to the victim who was shot in his bed during the wee hours of the morning on December 31st 2014.
Ever since Eddie York was murdered several members of his family spoke out saying the suspect in custody is responsible for her father’s murder, they even alleged that the woman contacted several of her nephews and offered them $1,000.00 to kill their grandfather. Some of the relatives who spoke to SMN News on the condition of anonymity said that while most of York’s grandchildren refused the offer made to them one of his grandson did accept the money and he allegedly shot his grandfather while he was sleeping. The relatives who spoke to SMN News said that the suspect was in control of her father’s wealth even his bank accounts and when her father realized that she was abusing the power he gave to her he changed things and took back his bank book and other documents she had for him and this move angered the woman now in police custody.
The suspect considered all that is being said about her and her father are rumors and she even told the judge that she does not know why the police did not arrest her nephew and question him just like they arrested her.
