Another Successful Breast Cancer Awareness Event for the Positive & Elektralytes Foundation at Kooyman.
Last Saturday, October 17th, The Positive & Elektralytes Foundations, together with Kooyman Megastore hosted 200 + ladies for their “PAINT IT PINK” breast cancer fundraiser event. The main feature for the evening was the MAKITA Power Tools Workshop, where ladies got a chance to work together to make their very own wooden tool box. All participants wore their MAKITA sponsored pink polo shirts got started, as the sound of hard work filled the air. Up for grabs that evening was an exclusive pink Makita Drill Set; 2 lucky winners were chosen and got walk away with great memorabilia of the evening.
The event didn’t stop there as ladies were also treated to free cocktails courtesy of Tequila Rose, distributed by CC1, Makeovers by Penha, Games and prizes by Funmiles and Beauty Info by Manrique Caprilles who also raffled off a beauty basket to one lucky winner.
“The goal of this event is to raise awareness for Breast Cancer and create a venue for ladies to have fun, and bond so that they may feel free to discuss the importance of getting checked, said Kooyman Commercial Officer, Evencia Carty Seabrookes. We have organized various ladies workshops throughout the year, however this was truly a special evening and Kooyman and MAKITA are really happy to have had a chance to show our support for this cause”.
“It was so amazing to see how excited and determined these women were to build their own personalized tool boxes, said Positive and Elektralytes Foundation spokesperson, Mercedes “Elektra” Wyatt-van der Walls. The combination of beauty and fragrance, skin care and cocktails and numerous raffles and a donation was a perfect mixture and the sisterhood among women was what I believe we were going for . When it comes to Breast Cancer many women need that support from their community, family, friends, loved ones to help them go through this tough disease. I believe through this interactive DIY workshop we sent a clear message that together we can accomplish and do many things”.
This event was made possible by Kooyman and MAKITA Power Tools , the Positive Foundation and Elektralytes Foundation as well as, PENHA, FUNMILES, MANRIQUE CAPRILES, TEQUILA ROSE distributed by CC1, KFC/PIZZA HUT.
