Prosecutor Office sends case of child negligence to Court Guardianship.

Police Officer filed several complaints over the weekend

PHILIPSBURG:--- The public prosecutor’s office has decided to refer the case that involves a female police officer who left her children unattended for almost 10 hours early September causing her 7 year old son to suffer from third degree burns when a pot of boiling water fell on him burning most his abdomen, private area and legs.
Press Prosecutor when contacted on Monday said that the mother of the child filed several complaints over the weekend, those complaints she said are being investigated by the police. In the case where the father Loic Artsen filed a complaint with the National Detectives the day after his son was hospitalized. Van Nie said that the prosecutor’s office referred the case back to the Court of Guardianship to investigate the legal custody of the child and also to focus on the best interest of the children involved on the night of the incident. Van Nie said the Court of Guardianship has trained professionals that could deal with situations where parents cannot agree and children are stuck between.
The father, Loic Artsen told SMN News last week that he has been fighting a seven year battle with his child mother and even took her to court to get visitation rights. Artsen said accused the mother of his son of being negligent since his son was a baby, he said ever since his child born he wants to acknowledge his son and to take full responsibility for his child. Artsen said the only reason he went public last weekend is that he managed to acknowledge his child on the French side and got him his French rights. He said the only reason, he obtained a birth certificate of the child and everything he did was done legally. Artsen said he did this recently after his child was severely burnt and he wanted to get him on his medical insurance on the French side.
Artsen said when he got the French birth certificate he went to the Civil Registry with the birth certificate and the employees of the civil registry chose to change his son’s name. Artsen said he did not ask the Civil Registry for any favors, however, he said when the mother found out she went to the Civil Registry and demanded that they change the child name back. Artsen said he secured the services of Attorney to further deal with the case since he cannot get justice from the other department.
