Minister of TEATT holding discussions with PJIAE Boards --- Working on getting STA registered as ZBO.

ingridarrindell02122015PHILIPSBURG:--- Minister of TEATT Ingrid Arrindell reported to members of the media on Wednesday that she is still busy meeting with various department heads to get their vision on how to move the Ministry forward. Minister Arrindell said he already met with the board of the Harbor Group of Companies and another meeting with that board is scheduled for next week. The Minister said one of main goals right now is to get the St. Maarten Tourism Authority (STA) up and running in order for her Ministry to work on marketing the island overseas, while she is also busy trying to get the registration of the STA from an Association to a ZBO in order for government to have a more hands on approach with the entity.
Minister Arrindell also announced that she is in discussion with the operating boards of the Princess Juliana International Airport on the screening process for the Managing Director Regina Labega. Minister Arrindell said she could not divulge any information on the ongoing discussions because it is far too premature. Asked if she is getting cooperation from the board at this time she responded in the positive but she could not say if the boards of PJIAE would have to be dissolved.

With regards to Bureau Telecommunication and Post (BTP) the Minister said a meeting has been planned in order for her to access the situation and take corrective measures.
