Spectrum signs LOI with AVA Airways.

Ireland:--- Willemstad Spectrum Aviation (Ireland) have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with AVA Airways, Curacao, to supply all Senior Flight Crews for the airline newly start-up plans. AVA Airways anticipate starting operations during Q4 2016 and is going to start operations using the Airbus 319/320 and the Bombardier Q400 aircraft for their feeder markets. The Airline Chairman, Olivier Arrindell stated that applicants would still need to meet minimum requirements including 1,800 hours of flying experience before operating one of its planes.
Ava Airways said Wednesday plans to also put student pilots from the Curacao and the Caribbean through the Ava Airways training program. The airline has a training program in place for its student program that shall meet both EASA and FAA Standers. Ava Airway's shall request it’s approved by Curacao Civil Aviation officials at the commerce of its Airline AOC certification. Mr. Arrindell also stated that this would break from a long-standing pattern in Curacao Aviation of not extending opportunities to young pilots.

Ava Airways has set the criteria for Captains and are now working on the criteria for its first officers for the Airbus 319/320 Aircraft. The TRI's/ TRE's for Ava Airways is 11 Weeks ON 2/5 Weeks OFF. Minimum Total flying hours for a Captain whom wants to fly with Ava Airways is 4000 hours minimum total of 2000 hours as PIC with minimum of 500 hours in command on type. Pilots should be currently flying as PIC on A319/320 and the NG Last Flight should be within the previous 24 months.
