PHILIPSBURG: ---- The supervisory board of GEBE officially signs off a contract with the former CEO of GEBE William Brooks who takes on the position as temporary manager of the company. Brooks was the former CEO of GEBE who left the company in 2011 to take on job offer in St. Kitts but later returned to St. Maarten.
The contract signed on Thursday morning between GEBE and Brooks is for a temporary period based on article 8:11 of the company’s article of incorporation.
William Brooks a local engineer who worked for GEBE in the past was given a second chance since June 2015 when the supervisory board of GEBE nominated him as one of the candidates to be appointed as the company’s CEO but to date that appointment has not been made by the shareholder representative (government). On Wednesday during the Council of Ministers press conference SMN News asked Prime Minister William Marlin when government will take a look at the two nominations made by the supervisory board of GEBE for the vacaant positions namely, CEO and COO. Marlin said since taking office he did not see the documents the supervisory board of GEBE sent to government thus he has asked the supervisory board to resend their nominations with a new cover letter in order for the Council of Ministers to speed up the appointments.
