Gendarmes calling on witnesses to come forward urgently to lead them to the mother of a new born that was found abandoned. (UPDATED)

Orient Bay:--- The gendarmes issued an urgent call for witnesses who might have noticed or know something about the mother of a new born baby girl they found around 9am on Saturday morning in the vicinity of Orient Club and Le Galion Beach. Captain of the Gendarmerie Emmanuel Maignan told SMN News that the baby girl was found naked a few hours after she was born. He said the baby seems to be from Hispanic descent. Captain Maignan said based on the investigations conducted thus far the little girl seem to have born sometime during the night and that she is alive and in good health and is currently at the Louis Constant Fleming Hospital.
The gendarmes insists that they are looking for a woman that gave birth couple of hours ago outside of the hospital especially for her own health and safety, therefore they are urging persons with information to come forward or call “17” to provide information as soon as possible.

The Gendarmes are urging persons with information regarding the woman who gave birth to a baby girl on the night of December 25th 2015 to contact them as they continue to search for the mother of the child that was found hours after she was born on Galion Beach. On Monday the Gendarmes said they recieved one phone call with vital information, but the information they got is not enough for them to find the mother of the baby girl, therefore they are urging persons who may have information on a pregnant woman who gave birth recently outside of the hospital and do not have her child with her.
