PHILIPSBURG:--- Minister of VROMI Angel Meyers announced on Wednesday that he official informed Port Plaisance that he revoked the decision the former Minister of VROMI made with Port de Plaisance where they had an agreed to exchange a parcel of land at Kim Sha beach for a parcel of land in Cole Bay. Minister Meyers said that he had enough reasons and grounds to revoke the decision because the parcel of land in Simpson Bay is already designated for a much needed parking space in Simpson Bay which is also in the zoning plan of that area. The Minister said Port de Plaisaince wanted to use one of their companies to build a resort at the said location.
As for the parking that is planned for Philipsburg, Ministers Meyers according to him this is pure rumors but after seeing the publication of the master plan for the Philipsburg area in the vicinity of Walter Plantz Square he wants to make clear that he did his research and so far the St. Maarten Habor Group of Companies did not submit any request for a building permit for a parking at Great Bay Beach and therefore he wants to put that rumor to rest because no building permit for a parking was issued by the Ministry of VROMI.
