PHILIPSBURG:---- The SXM DOET Project Management Team hosts successful launch of 2017’s SXM DOET volunteer initiative.
The SXM DOET Project Management Team hosted a very successful launch to its 2017 volunteer initiative at Axum Art Café on Friday, February 24th. Thus far 74 projects, hosted by approximately 40 organizations, have been registered and are actively recruiting volunteers. Nearly all participating organizations made it to the launch whereby a quick overview and history were given of SXM DOET and all were presented with their goodies and vouchers. The goodies consisted of the well-known DOET shirts, caps, shades, bandanas as well as many other promotional items to help promote the cause. All made possible with the help of Easy Print and Firgos. The vouchers were provided by Domino’s Pizza, Cake House, Divico, Heavenly Water, and Greenfingers, and consist of varying discounted options to free goods. Ensuring that all participating organizations can make the most of their funds provided to them by Oranje Fonds and a successful execution of their project.
Many participating organizations are returning hosts as well as many newcomers. All providing a great variation of types of projects, from beautifying school yards, sprucing up playgrounds, setting up community gardens, cooking for the less fortunate, helping out animals in need, taking the elderly or foster kids out for a fun day, and much much more.
The SXM DOET Project Management Team is very proud to have seen SXM DOET grow as exponentially as it has in such a short while. Growing from about 30 projects to over 70 in just 3 years. This year to help facilitate the process, the team has also recruited volunteer project managers that help guide the organizations in the DOET process. The team is very grateful for their assistance and was happy to introduce all the kind-hearted dedicated persons to their projects at the launch. They will, along with the Be The Change Foundation Board and members of the Oranje Fonds, be out on the road supporting and visiting all the projects during the official SXM DOET days as well, on March 10th and 11th.
There are still many intriguing projects in need of volunteers. To view a listing of the projects please visit www.sxmdoet.com/en/all-jobs.
