PJIAE Celebrates Security Day 2023 with Honors and Certifications.

pjiaesecurity17102023SIMPSON BAY:---  Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIAE) celebrated its Security Day with a remarkable dinner event on Saturday, October 14, dedicated to honoring the dedication and hard work of its Security department staff and their partners. The event was marked by moments of joyous recognition and the presentation of certifications to deserving security officers.

The event, held at Emilio’s, was a well-attended event, showcasing the airport's commitment to its security personnel and their invaluable role in ensuring the safety of travelers and airport operations. A highlight of the evening was the recognition of the first-ever Security Man and Security Lady Award. Mr. Alirio Strickx and Ms. Veronica Jones received this special recognition award, accompanied by standing ovations and cheers from their colleagues, symbolizing the airport's commitment to gender equality in the workplace, and celebrating the exceptional contributions of both male and female security officers. The Security Man and Security Woman awards underscored the outstanding dedication and professionalism displayed by PJIAE's security personnel.

In addition to these top honors, the event also included the presentation of certifications achieved by the security officers throughout the year. These certifications represent the commitment of PJIAE's Security department to continuous improvement and excellence. Among the certifications presented, notable recognition was given to security officers who completed courses with the Red Cross, enhancing their ability to respond to emergencies and provide vital first aid.

PJIAE's CEO, Brian Mingo, expressed his gratitude to the Security department during the event, highlighting their vital role in ensuring the safety and security of travelers and airport operations. He emphasized the airport's ongoing commitment to investing in the professional development of its security personnel.

Operations Director, Mr. Emile Levons, emphasized the crucial role played by the Security Department in ensuring seamless and secure airport operations, whereby the Security Department forms the backbone of the Airport’s operations. The tireless efforts of all Security Officers are instrumental in maintaining the safety and security of the airport, ensuring that passengers and personnel can travel with peace of mind.  Security Manager, Mr. Elsidro St. Jago, during his speech acknowledged the hard work of the entire security team and the significance of the day and remarked: "This occasion is a testament to your unwavering dedication. We are honored to work with such an exceptional team, and I commend each of you for your tireless efforts," he declared.

The Security Day celebration brought together employees, their partners, and various stakeholders, fostering a sense of community and unity within the airport's security department. HR Director, Ms. Miguela Gumbs, expressed her admiration for the commitment and professionalism displayed by the Security Department.
