U.S. Consulate General Curacao and Islandpreneur Partner to Empower Women Entrepreneurs

U.S. Consulate General Curacao and Islandpreneur are thrilled to announce a partnership aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs. From June 27-29, Islandpreneur POWER Fest, a transformative conference, will take place at Simpson Bay Beach Resort, Sint Maarten, focusing on equipping women entrepreneurs from the Dutch Caribbean and the United States with tools and strategies for enhanced profitability.

The U.S. State Department’s POWER program, launched in 2019, serves as the backbone of this collaboration. Providing Opportunities for Women’s Economic Rise (POWER) leverages diplomatic resources and integrates the U.S. private sector to facilitate women entrepreneurs' access to essential skills and professional networks. POWER promotes economic empowerment through:

·         Convening women business leaders and entrepreneurs to develop vital networks and partnerships in emerging markets.

·         Empowering women to identify opportunities and formulate competitive strategies in traditionally male-dominated sectors.

·         Direct engagement with women business owners and leaders to promote their full participation in the global economy and workforce.

·         Establishing strong, active professional networks crucial for the long-term success of women entrepreneurs.

·         Recognizing the pivotal role of women leaders in fostering robust business networks across key emerging sectors internationally.

Women from Aruba, Curacao, and Sint Maarten who have operated their businesses for less than five years will join with counterparts from Atlanta, GA who are also eager to scale their businesses. Conference attendees will not only hear from experts, but also workshop directly with other business owners in their sector to leave the conference with tangible results. This partnership and conference underscore the U.S. commitment to work alongside our allies to empower women entrepreneurs, drive sustainable economic growth, and foster inclusive development in the Caribbean and beyond.
