PHILIPSBURG:--- The National Detectives of Sint Maarten have initiated an investigation into a video that has been recirculating on social media. The video, which purportedly depicts an individual believed to be Member of Parliament Raeyhon Peterson from the Party for Progress (PFP) faction and others engaging in a physical altercation, first came to public attention in April 2025.
Following the video's initial circulation, concerns were raised, prompting the National Detectives to launch a formal investigation. The video has resurfaced in recent days, reigniting public discourse and underscoring the need for a thorough examination of the incident.
The Prosecutors Office states that the National Detectives, a specialized unit tasked with probing criminal activities within government bodies, that the investigation remains active. Their work primarily focuses on allegations involving civil servants and public officials, emphasizing the importance of accountability and adherence to the rule of law within governance.
