Announcement of the Supervisory Board on the Departure of Financial Economic Director Mr. José Jardim, PhD, as of June 30, 2025.

Willemstad/Philipsburg – Mr. José Jardim, PhD, will step down as Financial Economic Director of the Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten (CBCS), effective June 30, 2025. Mr. Jardim is taking on a new role in the private sector, where he will assume a leadership position at a commercial bank. This next step in his career follows a period at the CBCS during which he, as a member of the Board of Directors, played a key role in guiding complex dossiers. In recent months, his departure has been arranged meticulously and in close consultation. As part of this arrangement, it was agreed with Mr. Jardim that he would no longer take an active role in the operations of the CBCS or of the institutions under its supervision. His involvement was limited to the handover of ongoing dossiers. The Supervisory Board has established the framework for a recruitment process to appoint a new Financial Economic Director. Given the significance of the role, the process will be approached with the utmost diligence and care. In the interim period, Mr. Jardim’s responsibilities will be assumed by CBCS President Mr. R. Doornbosch and Executive Director Mrs. L. Matroos-Lasten. The Supervisory Board expresses its gratitude to Mr. Jardim for his years of dedicated service to the CBCS and wishes him every success as he embarks on the next chapter of his professional career.
