Armed Robbery at Philipsburg Jewelry Store – Multiple Arrests Made.

PHILIPSBURG:---  Several suspects are in custody following a brazen armed robbery at a downtown Philipsburg jewelry store on Tuesday morning. The incident, which occurred around 11:50 a.m. on September 30, 2025, triggered a rapid and coordinated response from local and regional law enforcement.

According to reports from the Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM), two masked individuals dressed in black long-sleeve shirts and beachwear shorts arrived at the waterfront location on jet skis. They entered the jewelry store, forcibly stole merchandise, and quickly fled the scene on the same watercraft, heading towards Cape Bay.

KPSM detectives and patrols were immediately dispatched to both Philipsburg and Cape Bay. In a joint operation with the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard, authorities secured the Cape Bay area and launched a thorough search. This collaborative effort led to the successful apprehension of several individuals believed to be connected to the robbery.

All apprehended suspects were transported to the Philipsburg Police Station for interrogation. The jet skis used during the robbery have been seized as evidence, along with other items relevant to the ongoing investigation.

In light of this event, KPSM is urging high-value retail businesses to review and enhance their security protocols. Recommended preventive measures include installing comprehensive video surveillance, utilizing monitored alarm systems that directly notify law enforcement, and employing security personnel in conjunction with controlled access entry systems.

The Police Force of Sint Maarten has expressed its gratitude to the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard and all collaborating agencies for their swift and effective support in this matter.
