PJIAE Celebrates First Ever Movie Night For 250 Kids.

pjiaemovie051102025PHILIPSBURG:---  On Friday, October 3, Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIAE) proudly hosted its first-ever kids movie night, welcoming 250 children for an evening of entertainment, community connection, and joy. The free event was part of PJIAE’s ongoing community program and was fully booked just a few hours after registration opened, reflecting the strong enthusiasm and engagement from families across the island.

The event aimed to strengthen the airport’s connection with the local community. Families gathered in the airport’s check-in area to enjoy a true cinematic experience, complete with complimentary popcorn, ice cream, and refreshments for both children and parents.

“This program is about building bridges between the airport and the people of St. Maarten,” said Michael Cleaver, CEO and President of PJIAE. “We were delighted to welcome so many children to the airport and offer them a fun and memorable night out.”

Community engagement

The first ever kids movie night is part of PJIAE’s community program, which aims to nurture meaningful relationships with the people of St. Maarten. By engaging young St. Martiners, the airport aims to inspire curiosity, encourage learning, and strengthen ties with the community and its future workforce.

Earlier this year, PJIAE also hosted a community shopping experience at the airport, offering local families a unique opportunity to explore retail spaces in a welcoming environment. Additionally, in collaboration with St. Maarten Paws, the airport welcomed dogs to the terminal to promote animal welfare on the island and bring joy to travelers and staff alike, further demonstrating PJIAE’s commitment to a variety of community-centered initiatives.
