PHILIPSBURG—All four minors suspected of breaking into and vandalizing seven booths at Festival Village are now in police custody after their parents recognized them in surveillance footage that was published on social media and brought them to police.
The break-ins occurred during the early morning hours of Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Festival Village on Soualiga Road.
According to the Police Force of St Maarten (KPSM), the first parent took her son to the police station on Sunday after recognizing him in the circulating footage. Police subsequently arrested the minor.
Two additional parents brought their sons to the police station on Monday, September 14, after also recognizing their alleged involvement. Both minors were arrested and detained pending further investigation.
At the time of KPSM’s initial update, police were still searching for a fourth suspect. SMN News understands that the fourth minor was taken to the police station on Monday evening, bringing the number of suspects arrested to four.
KPSM commended the parents for coming forward and cooperating with investigators, saying their actions demonstrated the important role the community can play in helping law enforcement address criminal activity.
As all four suspects are minors, police will not disclose their names or any information that could lead to their identification. The allegations against them have not yet been proven in court.

SECOND UPDATE: FOUR MINORS ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH FESTIVAL VILLAGE BREAK-INS
The Police Force of Sint Maarten (KPSM) is providing a further update on the investigation into break-ins at several booths in the Festival Village on Suoaliga Road during the early morning hours of Sunday, September 13, 2026.
KPSM can now confirm that on Monday afternoon, September 14, 2026, the fourth suspect's parent also brought her son to the police station. Police subsequently arrested the minor, who is currently being held pending further investigation.
With the arrest of the fourth suspect, four minors have now been arrested in connection with the Festival Village break-ins.
KPSM would like to commend again the parents who came forward and brought their children to the police station. Their cooperation has assisted the police in advancing the investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing. Detectives and the Forensic Department continue to gather evidence and establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
As all four suspects are minors, KPSM will not disclose any information that could lead to their identification.
