BVI Tortola Edges St Maarten 85–83 to Win Paradise Showdown U15 Title.

basketball08102026PHILIPSBURG:---  BVI Tortola captured the championship title at the third annual Paradise Showdown U15 basketball tournament, defeating host team Sint Maarten 85–83 in a closely contested final at the L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium.

Hosted by the PSA Athletics Association from October 3–7, the five-day tournament brought together young basketball players from across the region for competitive games and morning sessions.

Sint Maarten finished second following the narrow championship defeat, while Anguilla secured third place with a commanding 77–28 victory over St. Eustatius.

Regional Talent Takes Center Stage

The tournament also featured an All-Star event with players from Anguilla, St. Kitts & Nevis, Aruba, St. Eustatius and Guyana. Players were randomly assigned to Team Red and Team Blue, with Team Red winning 52–28.

The championship team received customized championship rings and first-place trophies. The second- and third-place teams received medals and their respective trophies.

Individual honors recognized the tournament’s Most Valuable Player and ten outstanding players selected to the First and Second All-Star Teams.

Akhori Sebastian Named Tournament MVP

BVI Tortola’s Akhori Sebastian, No. 4, earned the tournament’s Most Valuable Player award.
