MARIGOT—A 26 year old man is now behind bars in Guadeloupe for physically assaulting a gendarme while on duty. A press release from the gendarmerie stated that the officer was assaulted at the La Savane station by someone who was accompanying another person for a judicial hearing. The suspect it is said punched the receptionist in the face, the officer is now on sick leave due to the injuries he sustained.
