Peridot Foundation joins the world in support of this year's theme chosen by the United Nations.
The international theme chosen this year by the United Nations ( UN) is : "Empower rural women: End hunger and poverty". It's a fact that too many women around the world living in rural areas still face many challenges including not having the possibility of equal access to resources including financial opportunities to sustain themselves and their families. Having access to financial resources would assist greatly in reducing hunger for 15 million people across the globe."
The United Nations (UN) Women's organization UN Women choose to place emphasis this year on advancing women's economic empowerment and political participation and leadership. Empowering women in general, and in particular women who live in rural areas who need to break through the economic glass ceiling is a continuous process we must all support in whichever way possible.
