As for the St.Maarten Sport Federation we will do all we can to find a window for our athlete from St. Maarten.
Report from Dominican Republic Coach, Romain Layour
The Athletes Burton Theodora has improved his average time and still striving to mark his limit to the best of his ability.
When Burton started training with me he was a very motivated athlete who knows what he wants. But he didn't know a way to reach his goals. I had to start to null at zero in a new structure way with training. For instance" he have to know why he is going to do the different exercises, which changes his way of thinking, for that I have give him as much information in the pool and in land. Before he start with me he had endurance which was a good thing, but as a sprinter we must pass through some cycle of preparation in velocity and speed in the mechanical area, and the technical and strategic points how to swim a 50 meters sprint, first we put a program whereby he had to lose weight to be a lighter athlete, and to produce more efficient performance.
I have created a trainings program for his development during the training, and a swimming skill enhancement plan for tuning and improving his aerodynamic methods. He has lost 6 kilogram the last 2 months which his increase his velocity and position in the water.
I can say Burton has improved speed, resistance and the most important is his technical stroke, which means he has better coordination.
The best swimmer of Dominican RepublicMarco DIAZ and the Director Mr. George Rodriquez came to support the training program and have spoke some technicalities of swimming with the Burton Theodora and the Coach Mr. Romain Layour.
