Governor Holiday pays working visit to Social and Health Insurance Institution.

Holiday paid a working visit to the Social and Health Insurance Institution (SZV) as part of his regular program to be appraised of key developments and matters regarding the state of the country. The Governor was received by SZV CEO, Mr. Dennis Richardson, SZV COO Mr. R. Willemsberg and SZV CFO Mr. A. Lievaart. Governor Holiday was updated on the activitities, progress, plans and challenges of the SZV since it tookover the responsibities to manage and administer the social and health insurances on Sint Maarten on January 1, 2011.
Following the meeting with the Mangement Governor Holiday got a tour of the offices of SZV located on the Nisbeth road and on A.T. Illidge road, during which he met with and received explanation on SZV operations from the staff. The Governor applauds the quality enhancement initiatives of the SZV and encouraged the management and staff to continue unabatedly on their path of working on the achievement of their mission to provide quality social and health care services to the population of Sint Maarten.
The SZV is an incorporated independent governing body (rechtspersoonlijkheid bezittend zelfstandig bestuursorgaan). Tasks are advice concerning and the execution of social and sickness insurances and insurances with a predominantly social character as assigned by law. Until now the following insurances and measures with a social character belong to the tasks of the SZV:

a. Sickness Insurance (ZV)
b. Accident Insurance (OV)
c. Old Age Pension (AOV)
d. Widows & Orphans Insurance (WW)
e. Severance Pay(Cessantia)
f. General Insurance Chronic Sicknesses Costs (AVBZ)
g. Fund Sickness Costs Government Pensioners (FZOG)
h. Administration Medical Expenses of Civil Servants & Social Support Cardholders (BZV)
i. Medical inspection civil servants (ziekteverzuim controle).
