Minister Meyers encourages unemployed and job seekers to attend Sonesta Maho Beach Resort Two-Day Job Fair.

PHILIPSBURG:--- Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino will be having a two-day Job Fair where persons will get the opportunity to apply for a number of job vacancies at the resort.

The Job Fair starts on Monday, March 5 from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm at the Royal Islander Room, Maho Reef, and continues on Tuesday, March 6 during the same times.

Job openings are in areas of Food & Beverage, Banqueting, Maintenance, Stewarding, Front Office, Housekeeping, Entertainment, Retail Department, Security Department, and Accounting Department.

Minister of Economic & Tourism Affairs, Telecommunications & Transport Hon. Franklin Meyers, is encouraging the unemployed and job seekers to use this opportunity to find a job

"When one of the island's major resorts has a two-day job fair, it's an indication that things are not as bad. It's a positive and welcoming sign. We have reasons to be optimistic. Just about every day you can read in the papers about job vacancies.

"The global economic recovery is still fragile and many uncertainties remain. Government has been working diligently and putting into place educational pathways with other stakeholders that can help the unemployed and job seekers excel in a tough and uncertain environment.

"The unemployed and job seekers have an opportunity to find work at the two-day Job Fair. Go prepared and be optimistic," Minister of Tourism & Economic Affairs Hon. Franklin Meyers said on Sunday.

Those heading out to the Job Fair on Monday and Tuesday must carry with them a resume, copy of a valid ID (passport, driver's license, Sint Maarten ID card), diplomas and certificates.
