Woman Arrested and Released --- Threatened her Daughter with Gun.

Philipsburg:--- Melanie Wescot, sister in law of Prime Minister Sarah Wescot Williams, was arrested by police on Friday for firearm possession and was later released.
According to reliable information reaching SMN News, the elderly woman threatened her daughter with a firearm and the daughter later spoke to a police patrol that was in the area. SMN News learnt that the threatening took place on Friday morning when the mother and daughter had an argument. The source said that the woman's daughter who is a grown woman felt threatened and she decided to alert a police officer who subsequently searched the woman's house and found the weapon. Police arrested Wescot and took her to the Philipsburg Police station for further interrogation where they later learnt that the gun is not a real firearm and the elderly woman cooperated.
A source within law enforcement said that the firearm was not a real pistol, instead it's a "signal pistol" and it is not listed under the weapons and firearms ordinance. Reliable sources say that the elderly woman is on medication and was later released by police while the signal pistol was confiscated.
