Philipsburg:--- Several dignitaries representing the Parliament of St. Maarten, the Council of Ministers and the Governor of Curacao Fritz Goederag were among the large crowd of people who paid their last respects to the Governor of St. Maarten drs. Eugene Holiday whose mother was laid to rest on Friday.The funeral (thanksgiving service) for the late Leonie Cassandra Holiday Marsham was held at the Methodist Church on Front Street.
Her daughter Glenderlin Davis-Holiday described her mother as a disciplinarian and one that did everything to make sure her seven children took their education seriously. Davis-Holiday said besides that her mother was a staunch Christian and one who contributed heavily in community services.
