WICSU/PSU Says Department of Public Education to be Investigated --- Not the Department Head.

glenderlindavisholiday28092012Philipsburg:--- The Windward Islands Civil Servants Union (WICSU/PSU) contacted SMN News via email and said that the union finds it necessary to react to an article that was published on SMN News (www.smn-news.com) on Friday regarding the decision taken by the Minister of Education and the Council of Ministers to place the Head of Public Education Mrs. Glenderlin Davis-Holiday on inactive duty while an investigation takes place at the Department of Public Education. The Assistant General Secretary of WICSU/PSU Eric Knight said Mrs. Davis-Holiday is a long standing member of their union. The union felt that both the headline and the story in their opinion is misleading and can potentially damage Mrs. Davis-Holiday's credibility. WICSU claims that that their member was not placed on inactive duty and neither is she under investigation. WICSU explained that the Division of Public Education is to be investigated and Mrs. Davis-Holiday has been instructed not to report to work during this time.
