Armed Robber Arrested.

armedrobberyfillin13082012St. Peters:--- On Monday September 17th at approximately 07:20pm, police arrested a man with initials T.D.W. (18) from Sint Maarten at his home as a suspect of armed robbery. The incident took place at approximately 07:00pm at the Sunshine Supermarket on the Genip road in Sint Peters, when according to the victim with initials Q.H. an unknown man, dressed completely in black with his face covered armed with a handgun stormed into the supermarket. The suspect threatened to use the weapon if no cooperation was given. The suspect then took all the cash that was in the cash register. After committing this act, the suspect fled the scene on foot. The victim and an witness chased the suspect through the neighborhood while notifying the police of what was taking place. The chase lead police to an address in the Retreat Estate area where the suspect went into hiding. After the home was completely surrounded by police, a search of the home was done. The suspect was arrested and the clothing he wore during robbery along with the cash that was stolen were recovered and confiscated. The suspect admitted to having committed the act. He was taken to the Philipsburg Police Station and handed over to the Detective Department for further investigation.

The suspect in this case was immediately arrested due to the fact that the citizens in the Sint Peters area who had seen what happened called the police department and gave information that helped with this arrest.
