One Arrested for Firing Shots at Alleged Thief --- Victim flown to Martinique for further medical attention.

Marigot:--- The Gendarmes arrested a resident of Grand Case who shot an alleged thief in his face early Wednesday morning. A press release from the Gendarmerie states that the resident was awakened when his dogs began barking around 5am in the morning. Upon making checks outside of his residence, the resident noticed someone breaking into his car that was parked on the road. The resident then took his rifle and shot in the direction of the person breaking into his vehicle. The alleged thief was shot in his face. The victim, a resident of Dutch St. Maarten was hospitalized at the Louis Constant Fleming Hospital prior to him being flown to Martinique for further medical treatment.
The press release states that the Gendarmes have since launched an investigation into the shooting incident.
