One Jailed for Attempted Murder --- Gendarmes Calling for Information on Nude Man.

Marigot:--- The court in Basse-Terre sentenced a man that fired three shots at two men in French Quarter on March 11, 2012. A press release from the Gendarmerie states that the man was sentenced on Friday March 23, 2012 to five years imprisonment with one year suspended and two years of probation.
It appears as though the man was involved in a dispute a few days earlier with two brothers and he returned with a gun and shot them both in their face and arms.

In an unrelated case, another man who stole jewellery from his neighbor in Concordia on March 26, 2012 was sentenced to two years in prison. The suspect was caught and sent to Guadeloupe for trial the next day. He also received one year suspended sentence and two years probation. The culprit in this case is a well known thief in the neighborhood.

On Monday March 26, 2012, neighbors reported to Police aux Frontières seeing a man walking around naked at a residence in Baie Nettle. He was detained by a patrol who took him to the Gendarmerie station in Marigot where he was questioned. However, during a momentary lapse of attention by his interrogators, the suspect was able to escape.
The Gendarmerie is appealing to the public to contact them on emergency number 17 if they know of the whereabouts of the suspect, or have information that would lead to his recapture.
