President of Parliament Removed Coat of Arms --- Says Procedures were not followed.

sxmparliamentcoatofarms12082012Philipsburg:--- The President of Parliament Rudolph Samuel has decided to discontinue the use of the Coat of Arms that was created by graphic designer Loic Bryan with the assistance of several schools. SMN News learnt that the new President of Parliament discovered that proper procedures were not followed prior to using the coat of arms while Member of Parliament Gracita Arrindell was the Chairlady of Parliament.

According to information provided to SMN News, the Parliament of St. Maarten did not even adopt the coat of arms in their general assembly, neither did the former President of Parliament Gracita Arrindell verify if the art work in the coat of arms created for St. Maarten is being used by any other country.

Samuel has already removed the coat of arms from the Parliament website and all other official documents until the proper procedures are followed to properly use the coat of arms.

SMN News further learnt that the process to verify the authenticity of the coat of arms is currently underway. President of Parliament Rudolph Samuel confirmed to SMN News that he removed the coat of arms because proper procedures were not followed.
