“Readers are Leaders” Celebrated Black History at the Library.

Philipsburg:--- On Tuesday February 28, 2012, the "Readers are Leaders" Club presented a cultural evening to celebrate Black History Month. The gathered young crowd were presented with poetry, songs and dance.

"Readers are Leaders" is a reading program organized and supported by Philipsburg Jubilee Library and the Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise. The goal is to stimulate reading by teenagers and to show that reading is fun! The participants are challenged to read a number of books and submit reports about the books they read.
The winner of last year's Readers are Leaders competition, Luis Hartault, was the M.C. for the evening. He presented the enthusiastic spectators with various performances by students from St. Maarten Academy, and St. Maarten Vocational School, who an excellent job.
