PHILIPSBURG:--- The Detective Department is currently investigating a recent case of possible attempted robbery or attempted homicide. The incident happened on Monday July 30th, 2012 at approximately 1:30am on Bush Road in the vicinity Cost U Less. According to the victim and witnesses, they had gone to the ATM-machine to get some money and while at the ATM-machine, the victim who was still in the car was attacked by two unknown men dressed completely in black with their head covered with a "hoody". At least one of these men was armed with a knife and tried to stab the victim. The victim with the initials E.F.H. managed to get away by jumping out of his car with license plate P-9820 leaving it behind and running in the direction of Star Mart. Both suspects ran back to the victim's car. They jumped into the car and chased the victim with it. The suspects managed to catch up with the victim in the vicinity of Meadowlands N.V. and knocked him down with car while partially destroying the fence of that establishment. After committing this act both suspect took off running leaving the victim injured on the scene. The victim was treated on the scene by paramedics and then taken to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. At the hospital, the victim learned that he had suffered a fractured hip.
