Curacao Prime Minister Dissolves his Cabinet and Parliament --- Calls for New Election.

Willemstad, Curacao:--- The Prime Minister of Curacao Gerrit Fransisco Schotte dissolved the Parliament of Curacao on Friday and submitted the resignations for the Council Ministers to the Governor of Curacao. Schotte also informed the Governor that as Prime Minister of Curacao he wants new elections to be held on October 19th, 2012. Up to press time, it was not known if the Governor signed off on the decree to dissolve the Parliament. Currently, Curacao has no government and the country has been in political chaos for months now.

Even though Schotte submitted the resignation of his cabinet, dissolved the Parliament of Curacao, and called for new elections it is up to the Governor to decide whether or not a new election is needed at this moment.

It is anticipated that the Governor of Curacao will consult with the faction leaders of the Parliament of Curacao and if there is willingness from at least 12 members of the Parliament then the Governor might give those parties that are willing to form a government the opportunity to do so. It is anticipated that the POL, PAR, and the two independent members of the Parliament of Curacao would form the next government if they are given an opportunity to do so.
